List of globally threatened birds of Guatemala

Twelve species of Guatemalan birds are currently classified as globally threatened (including the IUCN categories Extinct, Critically Endangered, Endangered, and Vulnerable). Highland Guan has been upgraded from Near Threatened to Vulnerable in 2007 (Eisermann et al. 2006; http://www.birdlife.org/action/science/species/global_species_programme/whats_new.html).
